Decapitated bodies of two friends recovered in Tangail

Police have recovered the decapitated bodies of two motorcyclists at Mirzapur in Tangail. Their bodies were recovered from the side of Juhi-Juthi filling station in Sohagpara area of Dhaka-Tangail highway on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Masud Rana, 30, son of Farid Bepari of Shantinagar village under Chilmari police station and Mamun, 32, son of Maqbul Hossain of Chanbari village under Rangpur Katowali police station. 

Masud Rana was working in a garment factory called Grameen Fabrics at Kashimpur in Gazipur and Mamun was running a mobile balance recharge shop in Chakraborty area of the same district.

It is learned that the two residents of the two districts of North Bengal were returning to work on the same motorcycle after the Eid holidays. When they reached the spot on the highway on Saturday morning, they may have been caught by the hijackers or may have been involved in an accident. 

At around 7 in the morning, the locals saw the bodies of the two of them in the flood waters on the side of the highway and informed the police.  Later, police and fire service members went and recovered 

the body. 

Police recovered a used Yamaha motorcycle, clothes and a bag of papers from there.

Mirzapur police sub-inspector (SI) Dipu Sarkar said arrangements were being made to send the body for autopsy. 

After further investigation, it will be known whether the murder was an accident or not.
