Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation AJM Nasir Uddin has set a three-day deadline for submitting reports of the progress of the underway works of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) projects for urban infrastructure development. He gave this order while meeting with the engineers at the CCC conference room on Sunday.
CCC Chief Executive Officer Md Samsuddoha, City Mayor General Secretary Md Abul Hashem, Additional Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam Manik, Engineer Delwar Hossain Majumdar, Architect Sohail Mahmud Shakur, Caretaker Engineer Monir Hussain, Kamrul Islam, Anarul Huma Saleh, caretaker engineer Sudeep Basak, Jhulan Kumar Das, Biplob Das, executive engineer Farhad Alam, Abu Sadat Mohammad Tayeb and Assistant Engineer Abu Siddique, among others were also present in the meeting.
The meeting discussed on the truck terminals, setting up LED lamps, sewage disposal project, ADP project, BMDF project, JICA project, Arakan road development, Baripara canal excavation project and Failatatli Bazar road development. The Mayor directed that the CCC engineers to be prepared and submitted details of the progress of the ongoing projects.
The CCC's pending projects have been asked to be completed by next September. He urged the ongoing projects to be completed by mid-December in any way, adding that the engineers have to act with integrity and sincerity. Work must be completed within the stipulated time. No excuse will be accepted. During the meeting, he directed the concerned to start urgently patch work on the damaged roads of the city.
The mayor said civil service relies heavily on the engineering department. On the basis of accountability, the development activities of their respective departments should be conducted. Conducting development activities through co-operation with each other will ensure quality of work.
