Going into 2022, Daniel Craig could make like ‘James Bond’ and earn a real life spy honour from Queen Elizabeth. 2021 marked the last time Craig would ever play the iconic spy thanks to the long-awaited arrival of ‘No Time to Die’. He first stepped into the part of ‘James Bond’ for 2006's ‘Casino Royale’, a well-received effort that offered a new take on ‘007’ while silencing the naysayers who objected to Craig's casting. Craig then played ‘Bond’ in a total of five movies; ‘No Time to Die’ brought about his epic and emotional sendoff.

Many actors have stepped into the role of ‘Bond’ over the years, from Sean Connery to Pierce Brosnan. Fans are now turning their attention to whoever will take on the part next, but Craig is still enjoying his goodbye tour. ‘No Time to Die’ was supposed to debut last year, but the coronavirus pandemic bounced it to October 2021. It received positive reviews from fans and critics alike, and Craig has shared his own satisfaction with how his Bond arc came to a close.

With ‘No Time to Die’ now available at home, it seemed like the celebration for Craig would be coming to an end. However, according to The Daily Mail, there might be one last bit of excitement. Reportedly, Craig will be among those included in the Queen's New Year Honours. Craig would receive the rare Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, which is typically reserved for spies and diplomats. In fact, Bond holds this honour in several of his stories.
