Covid-19: No death, 45 cases recorded in 24 hrs

Bangladesh registered no death in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Thursday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

The total number of deaths has so far reached to 29,127 and the death rate is 1.49 percent.

A total of 45 new infections from Covid-19 were recorded in the 24 hours. The total number of cases increased to 19,52,485, the press release added.

A total of 5,929 samples were tested across the country during this period.

The current positivity rate is 0.76 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14 percent, said the press release.

The recovery count went up to 18,92,443 after another 389 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the past one day.

From the beginning of the pandemic, 96.92 percent Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people, the DGHS statistics showed.

Among the 29,127 fatalities, 12,796 occurred in Dhaka division, 5,863 in Chattogram, 2,142 in Rajshahi, 3,718 in Khulna, 982 in Barishal, 1,327 in Sylhet, 1,417 in Rangpur and 880 in Mymensingh divisions.

As of Thursday, 6,232,766 people died, 459,359,200 people recovered from Covid-19 across the world and 507,116,631 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
