Comilla University teachers association (CoUTA) on Wednesday condemned verbal attack on Dhaka University professor D. A B M Faroque for publishing reports of his team’s research that found presence of multiple antibiotic in both pasteurised and non-pasteurised packed milk of different brands.
A press release, signed by Comilla University Teachers Association president Dr. Md Shamimul Islam and general secretary Kazi Omar Siddique, denounced the verbal attacks and behaviour using offensive language by some government bureaucrats and the milk processing companies's heinous forgery.
The statement also said that they were very concerned with the results of his study as the issue was related to public health and would have been unknown, if it was not revealed.
‘We hope government will take initiatives to prevent food adulteration and keep standard quality of them', said the statement seeking Prime Minister’s intervene.
