Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said, "Those who chant 'take back Bangladesh, Pakistan was better', the country is never safe in the hands of them." They want to take the country back, they want to make it like Pakistan.

He said this in the chief guest's speech at the triennial conference of Natore District Gurdaspur Upazila Awami League on Tuesday afternoon. District Awami League President Professor Abdul Quddus MP inaugurated the conference at Gurdaspur Government Pilot Model High School ground.

Dr Hasan Mahmud said, "Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, all the facilities of the city have reached the villages. We chant 'My village my city, it’s Digital Bangladesh'. And BNP gives slogans like 'no more digital country, take back Bangladesh' i.e. send Bangladesh back. If you ask them, they say - Tarek Bhaijaan gave us this slogan. And Mirza Fakhrul also said - Pakistan was better.

The information minister said, 'Today's development, progress, digital Bangladesh, BNP wants to take Bangladesh back a few decades from here. Pakistan, which looks at Bangladesh and sighs today, they want to make the country that Pakistan. We cannot hand over the country to those who do not believe in Bangladesh, because Pakistan was better. Those who gave birth to  infamous Bangla Bhai, who killed Mumtaz Bhai in Natore, we cannot go back to that period again.'

Referring to Mirza Fakhrul Sahib who spoke his mind a few days ago, Hasan Mahmud said, "He said that if the Awami League government falls, they will form a national government under the leadership of Tarek Zia." In other words, collecting donations from all businesses will bring Tariq Rahman to the leadership. That means bombs exploded in 500 places before, now bombs will explode in 5000 places, Bengali brothers will be again, people will be hanged and beaten to death, and there will be grenade attacks on August 21. If you bring Tarek Zia, these will happen.

Awami League joint general secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud said, "Tareq Zia is a symbol of terror in front of people, a symbol of grenade attacks, a symbol of bomb attacks, a symbol of Bangla Bhai, they want to form the government with him." Elections will be held again after a year. If Awami League does not come back to power, then what Dulu sahib said – BNP will take the skin off everyone's back. That is, if they come to power, they will make people suffer. So the power of this country cannot be handed over to them.

Broadcasting Minister said, "We have been in power for 14 consecutive years. No government in the world has been able to do 100% accurate work, and will not be able to. We may also have mistakes, by correcting them, the country will be run more beautifully in the future by the grace of God under the leadership of leader Sheikh Hasina.

Under the chairmanship of Gurdaspur Upazila Awami League President Advocate Anichur Rahman, District Awami League General Secretary Md Shariful Islam Ramzan was the main speaker, Awami League Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain was the guest of honor and State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak MP, Md Shahidul Islam Bakul MP, Awami League health and population affairs secretary. Rokeya Sultana and other special guests spoke.

In the second session of the conference, the new executive council of Upazila Awami League was formed with Advocate Anichur Rahman as the president and Abdul Matin as the general secretary.

Describing Bangladesh Awami League as a party of the masses, the party of hardworking people of this country, Minister Hasan Mahmud said, 'Awami League was born in 1949 to speak for the oppressed people. When politics was in the hands of big people, politics was imprisoned in the drawing room, politics was done by landlords, Awami League was born to bring that politics to the common people. The name of Awami League is associated with all the achievements of this country.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali father of all time, enlivened the sleepy Bengalis for thousands of years. At his call, millions of people of Bangladesh gave their lives in the liberation war conducted under the government of Bangladesh Awami League and brought the country's freedom.

Dr. Hashan reminded, 'When Bangabandhu was assassinated on August 15, 1975, the economic growth rate of Bangladesh was 9.54 percent. We managed to achieve more than 8 percent growth under the leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina, but could not achieve more than 9 percent. In 1975, 10 thousand tons of additional food grains were produced in Bangladesh. Bangabandhu was killed when he was rebuilding the country and leading it to prosperity. Bangabandhu could not see his dream of Sonar Bangla being fulfilled. Today, under the leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has come a long way towards fulfilling Bangabandhu's dream, and has been established as a prestigious state in front of the world.
