Comments on enforced disappearance do not suit anti-national force: Hasan

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said that those who are involved in conspiracy against the country, convicted for providing wrong and untrue information to international organizations and media, no statement or report based on the information given by them is correct.

He said this while replying to questions from journalists after the unveiling of the book 'Special Session of the Parliament in Mujibvarsh' at the Information and Broadcasting Ministry meeting room at the secretariat on Monday (April 19) at noon. State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, senior journalist Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul and author journalist Rafiqul Islam Sabuj and former general secretary of Dhaka Reporters Unity Syed Shukur Ali spoke on the occasion.

In response to a question about the discussion of disappearances and murders in Bangladesh in the United Nations Human Rights Commission, Dr. Hasan said, "If a report is prepared after sending a report by a special organization, then it is 'for demand'." We have seen, on the basis of information provided by 'Adhikar' and several other organizations, various people have expressed 'concern' there.

He said, 'The reality is that a list was published a few days ago that those who went missing in Bangladesh, 10 of them have returned, and 20 are various accused including murders. Many of them must have escaped. And some things are missing when BNP was in power, their names are also in the list.

The information minister said, "An organization called Adhikar had provided pictures to various international organizations and Al-Jazeera with pictures from other countries saying that hundreds of Hefazat workers were killed during the Hefazat movement. Later they came down from hundreds and said 61 people. But could not give anyone's name or identity. Due to these fabricated information, a case was filed against them and they were arrested. The missing-murder data provided by that organization is also flawed. From which source the UN is getting information is the big issue.

Hasan Mahmud said, "I think there has been a gross violation of human rights in Bangladesh by killing Bangabandhu and his family and then issuing an indemnity ordinance to stop the trial of that brutal murder and converting it into law." There have been gross violations of human rights when Ziaur Rahman seized power and killed thousands of army officers and jawans without trial, the August 21 grenade attack during Begum Khaleda Zia's reign and the Ganjakhuri Commission of Inquiry reported that Israel's Mossad had done it.

Tariq Zia was sentenced to life imprisonment in that case, many were hanged. The way people were killed by throwing petrol bombs in 2013-14-15 is a gross violation of human rights. Gross violation of human rights. I think these should also come in the report.

Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr. Hasan Mahmud said, 'We never support anyone obstructing a peaceful assembly. But you know that BNP fights among themselves all over the country. Yesterday in Chittagong, they created a disturbance in their assembly by throwing chairs. A few days ago, they conducted an attack on one of our processions in Mirpur. Banani's incident is under investigation, the investigation will reveal what actually happened. We do not want anyone to interfere with a peaceful assembly. But if BNP conducts attacks on people, conducts attacks on the police, neither the police nor the people can sit back.

Expressing his gratitude to State Minister Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury for encouraging Rafiqul Islam Sabuj to publish the speeches of the special session of Parliament in the Mujib year, Broadcasting Minister Hasan said that the book will serve as a reference document in the future and many people will know many unknown facts.

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said, "The president and about 80 parliamentarians addressed the special session of the National Parliament to commemorate the birth centenary of our great leader Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman." Journalist Rafiqul Islam Sabuj, Special Correspondent of Daily Times Alo, has taken the step of publishing those statements in a bibliography.

This book will be our big collection in the future. I hope that these speeches will encourage all the parliamentarians who come to the great parliament in the next hundred years or more to remember Bangabandhu.
