Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) Station in Pagla conducting a special operation in Swarighat and Narayanganj seized a speedboat (200 cc) with 3,800 kg (95 mounds) of Jatka on Tuesday.
On the basis of secret information, the raid was carried out at Dhaka’s Soarighat, Narayanganj Port No. 5 and Kathpatti Launch Ghat area
The seized speedboat has been ordered to be kept in the custody of the Coast Guard until further notice by the magistrate. The seized Jatkas were later distributed among local orphanages and the poor in the presence of Station Commander Pagla Lt.
Ashmadul, Executive Magistrate Mahmuda Jahan and Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Shahriar Salma. Regular operations will be carried out in the areas under the jurisdiction of Bangladesh Coast Guard to control law and order, curb robberies and ensure public safety as well as prevent illegal fishing and jatkanidhan.
