CMG Radio Day celebrated

Bangladesh’s relations with China, one of the major development and trading partners of the country, is growing with each passing day. Enhanced contacts and exchange between the media of the two countries are needed as the media can play an important role in strengthening cultural and economic ties. The Dhaka Bureau of China Media Group, the state-owned conglomerate of media outlets, is playing a key role in this regard.

These were the observations of the guests, who joined the celebration of `CMG Radio Day’ organized by China Media Group’s Dhaka Bureau. 

Journalists of China Media Group's Dhaka Bureau celebrated the day at its Gulshan office in the capital on Saturday (December 24) evening.

Former Director General of Bangladesh Betar Hosne Ara Talukder, Chief Executive of Radio Dhol Sylvia Parveen Leni, women entrepreneur Tanya Wahab and educationist Shah Nistar Jahan, among others, were present as guests of honor.   

Director of Bengali Service of China Media Group Yu Guang Yue Anandi joined the event online from Beijing and delivered the address of welcome.

In the program, journalists of the organization highlighted the programs the Dhaka Bureau produces.

The programs aired from Dhaka Bureau are ‘Aakash Chhute Chai’ program on women and human rights), ‘Byabsapati’ (program on business and economics), ‘Apon Aloy’ (program on art culture and literature), ‘Dehaghari’ (program on health). Shanta Maria, Sajid Raju, Mahmud Hashim and Habibur Rahman Ovi, hosts of the programs, also spoke at the event.

The guests enjoyed a radio drama produced by CMG Dhaka Bureau and performed by its journalists, at the event.

A cake was also cut in celebration of the bureau’s birthday in the presence of journalists from various media outlets.
