Following the hygiene rules, the Cinemaking International Film Festival with films from 54 countries will be screened in Dhaka on December 24. The festival will end on December 26.
A total of 150 films from 54 countries will be screened at the festival. In addition, a total of 28 films including 5 full-length films from Bangladesh will compete. Actor and film producer Tutul Chowdhury is acting as the chairman of the festival. CIFF founder Manjurul Islam Megh is the festival director.
The festival is organized by Dhaka Festival. Manjurul Islam Megh said that Apurba Kishore Bir's 'Antardvani' will be screened today as the inaugural film for his special contribution to Indian cinema. The Hindi language film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2019. The Bollywood actress has played the role of Swapnapati.
The final film will be 'Bir Denizinin Dogum Gunu' by Gultekin Bayer, a famous European filmmaker. On the closing day of the festival, there will be a special screening of 'The Unwanted Twin' by Bangladeshi woman producer Nanjiba Khan.
The second day of the festival has also been declared as 'Kids Film Day'. Children's films will be screened on this day. Children along with parents will be able to watch free movies as spectators. However, you have to confirm the ticket in advance. The three-day festival will be held at Masud Mancha in the capital.
