CAAB chairman participates in ICAO’s Global Symposium

The International Symposium on the Implementation of Innovation in Aviation was held on 8-11 December 2020 at the initiative of ICAO-International Civil Aviation Organisation. 

Air Vice Marshal Md. Mofidur Rahman, Chairman, Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB), as a panel member of the Global Symposium, participated in the web seminar on Friday.

The symposium discusses in detail the role of ICAO in enhancing innovative capabilities, especially in the aftermath of Covid-19, how innovation has been revived by the Aviation Authority, airlines and other industries through innovation and its problems and possibilities.

At the meeting, the CAAB Chairman called on the ICAO to play a stronger role in maintaining aviation activities as a regulatory body in the situation of Covid-19 and called on all its member countries to work together for the development of the aviation sector.

He emphasized the need for cooperation of all member states and strong leadership of the ICAO in its implementation. 

He proposed to take initiative to implement Gender Equality in the development of new generation aviation professionalism. 

Among the delegates from the Asia-Pacific region at the symposium were Captain Chester Voo, Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia and Tinnagorn Choowong, Executive Vice President (Operations) of Aerothai. The symposium was moderated by Arun Mishra, Regional Director, ICAO. The show is broadcasted live on ICAO TV.
