BTV’s ‘Ananda Mela’ to showcase dying culture

Bangladesh Television (BTV) has been arranged ‘Ananda Mela' in a whole different way this Eid- ul- Adha. We are going see and experience almost everything same as conventional fair on the set of ‘Ananda Mela’. This time ‘Ananda Mela’ is coming in the theme of fair which is gradually disappearing from our culture. We will see things like circuses, puppet dances, bioscopes, target practicing, sweet shops, monkey dance, different stalls of food, bangles, clothes etc.

Various events have been created around each shop and the story of Eid continues in 'Ananda Mela'. Regarding this context the director, planner of the show of BTV Jagdish Ash said, ‘Viewers have always been very curious about this popular show on BTV. We also try to entertain them. But this time the audience will be a little more surprised. At the Eid program, they will get a taste of the fair that has slowly disappearing from our culture. We hope the audience will enjoy this exceptional event.’

For the first time actor Riaz and actress Orchita Sporshia have appeared together as presenters on the stage of 'Ananda Mela' in the role of husband and wife.  This year's ‘Ananda Mela’ is organized by a mix collage of 3 songs of the late pop emperor Azam Khan (Ore Saleka Ore Maleka, Alal O Dulal and Bangladesh). Directed by Fuad Naser Babu and sang by singers Mehreen Mahmud, Alif Alauddin and Armin Musa. Also, the song “Age Ki Shundor Din Kataitam” has been re-fused and sung by Pulak Adhikari, Rezwan, Ananya, Bipasha and Mridula. 

Musician Pintu Ghosh will sing these words in the service of humanity that is the greatest joy of life. He himself sang the melody and gave music of this original song. Another original song has been made with the names of all the famous sweets of different regions of the country. The lyricist of the song is Litu Sakhawat. Tune composed and directed by Ejaz Farah. Voices were given by Ejaz Farah, Niaz Makhdum and Sadit.

Five popular actresses of the last five decades Shabnam, Babita, Anju Ghosh, Moushumi, and Mahiya Mahi have performed a collage of songs from different popular movies and performed 3 dances separately. Three socially conscious dramas have been created to diversify the audience. Starring Riaz, Sporshia, Misha Saudagar, Ataur Rahman, Zillur Rahman, Ahsanur Rahman, Humayun Kaberi, Gazi Rokon and Jadu. 

This year's BTV’s ‘Ananda Mela’ is produced by Hasan Riyadh and El Ruma Akhter and the script of the program is written by Litu Sakhawat. It will be broadcast after the English news on Eid day at 10 pm.
