BSPA Journalists Award ceremony held

Sadman Sakib, reporter of the Channel 24 emerged as the best reporter’s prize of the BSPA sports journalist of the year 2021 when the Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSA) awarded the prizes in eight categories in a colorful function on Friday.

Held at a hotel in the city in the BSPA Awad Night, Channel 24 journalist Sadman also won the first prizes in three categories, Best Exclusive Report, Best Series Reports and Best Television Interview.

The winners received trophies and prize money also when Zahid Ahsan Russel, State Minister for Youth Sports and Engineer Golam Mohammed Alamgir, chairman of the Max Group distributed prizes as the recognition of good reportings.

Apart from Sadman Sakib Rehanur Islam, journalists of Bangla daily Kaler Kantho won the prize for the Best Interview in print media category. Masud Alam, special correspondent of Prothom Alo won the first prize in the Best Feature for Newspaper category while Bodiujjaman Milon and Rashedul Islam, both the reporter of Prothom Alo won the second and third prizes respectively in the same category.

Fariha Afsana Kanta, reporter of the Maasranga television won the Best Feature for television category while the New Age photographer Sourav Lasker won the first prize in the Best Sports Photography category.  

Arafat Jubaer of Dhaka Post and Tarek Mahmud, sports editor of the Prothom Alo journalist won the second and third prizes respectively in the Best Interview for Newspaper/online/magazine category.

Among others, Rehanur of Kaler Kantha and Arafat Zubaear of Dhaka Post won the second and third prizes respectively in the Sports Journalist of the Year category.

The Business Post reporter Samiur Rahman and Rehanur of Kaler Kantha won the second and third prizes in the Best Exclusive Report category respectively.

Arafat and Krira Jogot reporter Tofail Ahmed won the second and third prizes respectively in the best series reports category respectively.

 ATN Bangla reporter SM Ashraful Islam and Channel 24 reporter AKM Faizul Islam won the second and third prizes respectively in the Best Feature for Television category.

Shamsul Hoque Tanku, photo journalist of Prothom Alo and Mir Farid of Kaler Kantho won the first and second prizes in the Best Sports Photography category.

Meanwhile, former national badminton player Kamrun Nahar Dana, Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited director Sarwar Hossain and journalist Md Mohiuddin Palash were honoured with the World Sports Journalists Day Awards.
