BSMRSTU students demand online lessons

Published : 25 Sep 2020 09:38 PM

Students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) have been staying at their respective residences.  Since then, several departments of BSMRSTU have been conducting online teaching activities.  But it can be noticed that most of the departments did not conduct online lessons.

There is no definite time when we will be able to live a normal life from the current Corona situation.  Why should we lag behind in this activity?  Why aren't we conducting online teaching activities?

Priyal Ahmed, a student of the Department of Finance and Banking, said, “An autonomous institution can take many initiatives for the welfare of students if it so desires. In 2020, the students of BSMRSTU have suffered the most.  Coronavirus is almost gone this year, but no one can guarantee that the coronavirus will be completely eradicated in 2021 or 2022.

Every university has many scholars or intellectuals; our university is certainly no exception.  However, there is a lack of necessary initiatives. If the university authorities have the will, then the students of this university can come forward to solve the problem and it is very normal to have this will. "

Also, AbulKhair, a third-year student in the same department, sent an open letter to the university authorities.  He called on the university to conduct online activities and reduce session congestion through open letters.

It may be mentioned that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology is a public university in Bangladesh.  On July 8, 2001, the BSMRSTU Act was passed in the Great Parliament.  The academic activities of the university started from the academic year 2011-12.  It is currently the fourth largest university in Bangladesh in terms of number of students.
