BSF ‘picks up’ two in Chapainawabganj

Two Bangladeshi fishermen were allegedly picked up by Indian Border Security Force from Farhadpur Nirmalchar in Godagari upazila on Thursday. The victims were Abdur Rahim, 55, son of Abu Bakar and Omar Ali, 32, son of Mosharraf Hossain of Premtoli Kathalbaria village in the upazila, reports BSS.

Nayan Ali, member of Ward No 1 of Matikata Union Parishad, said the BSF men from Tikna Char camp picked them up forcibly while returning home from the Padma River through Nirmalchar area in the afternoon. Contacted, commanding officer of Border Guard Battalion 1 Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Ferdous Ziauddin Mahmud, said they were trying to contact the BSF.
