A Bangladeshi man has been shot dead by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on the Porsha border, Naogaon, reports UNB.
The deceased, Subhas Roy, 37, son of Bhulu Roy, was a resident of Turipara village of the upazila.
The incident took place in the early hours of Monday when a group of cattle traders intruded into the Indian side through the border, where BSF opened fire at them, confirmed Lt Col Ariful Islam, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh, Camp No. 16.
“While the others were able to flee, Subhas was shot dead on the spot by members of BSF Agrabad Camp,” added the officer.
