There are a total of 1,059 villages including 461 upazilas under the grid and one upazila under off-grid (Rangabali upazila of Patuakhali) under the jurisdiction Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB), the largest power distribution company in the country.
BREB has completed 100% electrification in 461 grid-covered upazilas through its 80 Palli Bidyut Samiti. The Prime Minister has already inaugurated 100 per cent electrification of 288 upazilas while, the remaining 173 upazilas are awaiting 100 per cent electrification.
BREB hopes to complete 100 per cent electrification in all the 1,059 villages will be completed in Mujib Barsho.
