Brave women are leading country forward: Speaker

Highlighting the contribution of women in various fields of society including the great liberation war and language movement Speaker Dr. Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury said that the country is progressing in all fields due to the struggle of brave women. 

Women have always been working sincerely in the service of humanity for the purpose of building society. The present government is also supporting them.

She said said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the unveiling ceremony of the memorial book organized by Professor Dr. Zohra Kazi Parishad at the National Museum auditorium in the capital on Saturday

Chief Whip of Jatiya Sangsad Noor-i-Alam Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Dr. Md. Sharfuddin Ahmed, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Md. Zahid Hossain, Secretary of Health Education and Family Welfare Department Md. Saiful Hasan Badal among others also spoke on the occasion. Dr. Zohra Kazi Parishad president Mozammel Haque Khan presided over the function. 

The speaker said that Dr. Johra Kazi has devoted a long, illustrious and active life to the service of humanity. She provided medical care to the injured in the language movement and the great liberation war. She was the first to provide separate treatment for women in Dhaka Medical. 

She expressed optimism that if doctors are inspired by her ideals, it is possible to achieve the indicators of sustainable development targets to prevent maternal death and child death.
