BracU to collaborate with AUW

A Brac University delegation visited the Asian University for Women on Tuesday. BracU Vice President, International and Head of Human Resources Jonathan Cartmell, led the BracU delegation to the AUW campus in Chattogram. They held a meeting with an AUW team led by Registrar and Chief Operating Officer Dr David Dowland.

The meeting discussed programmes and research activities and possible collaboration, including on recruiting undergraduate and postgraduate students and generating short-term exchanges. Alongside encouraging AUW graduates to take up BracU master’s programmes. Signing a MoU between the two universities were also discussed. More follow up meetings are set to take place in future.

After the lunch, an Information session on BracU held for AUW students. Around 20 students attended the session. The session highlighted BracU’s postgraduate programmes and scholarships opportunities.

The BracU delegation comprised Senior Academic Advisor and Coordinator, BRAC Institute of Governance and Development Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan; Assistant Director, Center of Excellence for Gender, Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights at BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, Bachera Aktar; Senior Coordinator, JPGSPH, Kuhel Faizul Islam; Head of RMO, Ismat Shereen; Lecturer, School of Engineering and Computer Science, Najeefa Nikhat Choudhury; and Assistant Professor, BRAC Institute of Educational Development Professor Manjuma Akhtar Mousumi.

The AUW team comprised Professor Selim Reza, Professor AKM Shopon Mollah, Professor Tiffany Cone, Professor Naomi Sharin and Jumana Abuwala.
