Bangladesh Protibondhi Unnayan Sangstha (BPUS) on Sunday organised a rally and discussion meeting marking the 'International Day of Persons with Disabilities'.
The discussion event titled, "Participation and Leadership of Persons with Disability in an Inclusive, Accessible and sustainable world in the Post-Covid era", took place at the Shukanto Abdullah Hall at Upazila Parishad premises at Agailzhara Upazila in Barishal.
Chairman of Agailzhara Upazila Parishad, Abdur Rois Serniabad attended the event as chief guest with Agailzhara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Abul Hashem in the chair.
Social Welfare Officer of Agailzhara Upazila, Borishal, Shushanto Bala attended the event as special guest while Founder and Executive Director of BPUS, Badiul Alam delivered address of welcome. Senior BPUS officials and local elites were also present on the occasion.
BPUS distributed 20 Wheel Chairs and 20 White Cane, 20 Hearing aid among the deserving persons with disabilities in support with a donor and also distributed food items among a total of 200 persons with disabilities under the cooperation of 'Lilliaa Fonds Netherlands DRRA'
