Bourses close with upsurge of index

Country’s both the bourses completed the first working day of the week maintaining the upward trend of previous session overcoming the downturn of the couple of days in last week.

In country’s capital bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the core index, DSEX closed at 5033.79 points with a gain of 20.78 points, reports BSS.

Besides, the two selective indices, DSE30 increased by 8.55 points and DSES increased by 4.41 points to stand at 1766.76 points and 1171.48 points respectively.

A total number of 115,995 trades were executed in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 96.93 million securities. At DSE, 129 securities gained price while 172 declined and 52 remained unchanged.

The top 10 gainers were National Tubes, National Housing, BSCCL, Apollo Ishpat, GSP Finance, Monno Stafflers, IPDC, EBL NRB Mutual Fund, Usmania Glass and Atlas Bangla.

National Tubes topped the turnover list followed by Beacon Pharma, Monno Ceramic, Stylecraft, Monno Jute Stafflers, Fortune Shoes, Silco Pharma, BSCCL, Khunla Power and Bangas.

Besides, the top ten losers were Prime Finance First Mutual Fund, VFS Thread, Kay & Que, Dhaka Insurance, Savar Refractoris, SEML FBSL Growth Fund, Northern June, Aramit Cement, Dhaka Dying and Dulamia Cotton.

On the other hand, the port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) ended its session with a gain today. CSCX and CASPI increased by 17.68 and 28.10 points respectively.

At CSE, a total of 5,098,834 shares and mutual fund of 251 companies were traded, of which 100 issues advanced while 113 declined and 38 issues remained unchanged.
