BNP starts getting into political isolation: Obaidul Quader

Minister of Road Transport and Bridges ministry Obaidul Quader on Thursday said, “People think that the political isolation in BNP has been already started, and the negative impact of the virus has taken root into their mind, besides they are infected with a virus worse than COVID-19, and the symptoms of which are negativity, lies, conspiracies, arson, and terrorism.”

The minster made the remarks after inaugurating the construction work of ‘Second Aminbazar Bridge (8 lanes)’ on Dhaka-Aricha highway through an online video conference around 11:30 am at Aminbazar area in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital on Thursday morning.

The minister further said, the government doing their best in coordinated manner to deal with this pandemic, rather BNP’s statement proving that now they are in mishmash condition. 

Mentioning BNP doing reprehensible politics, Obaidul Quader said, “We are monitoring their politics centering coronavirus, as once they say for lockdown, and once says that what will happen to low-income people if lockdown took place. Their two-pronged policy confusing people, and basically they do this to remove the government, but people no longer support them, and people do not have faith on them. Adding that, people does not responding their movement as people know that their movement means arson, terrorism, and this is why they not getting support from people. BNP now rely on the arson, vandalism, and terrorism activities of Hefazat-e-Islam, after failing one after another movement of them.

On the other hand, after inaugurating the bridge construction work, the minister said, the government took a project to build three bridges at Aminbazar, Salehpur, and Nayarhat are on Dhaka-aricha highway, and this 233 meters long Second Aminbazar Bridge (8 lanes) being constructed under the project, at a cost of taka two hundred crore, and totally self-funding of the government.

“There is always traffic at the entrance of the capital as the road before Gabtoli bus terminal is 12 lanes, whereas Dhaka-aricha highway has only 4 lanes. In addition, the proposed Dhaka inner circular road will be passing through the link road in Gabtoli portion, therefore the initiative has been taken to lift the old steel bridge and build an 8 lane-bridge, to facilitate the vehicle movement of Dhaka inner circular road”, Obaidul Quader added. Notably, the construction cost of this 233-meter long bridge has been estimated at Tk 199.50 crore, and its construction work supposed to end by next February of 2023.
