Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud said that a big picnic is being held in the name of BNP rally. He said all this while talking to reporters at the secretariat on Sunday (November 20).
In this context, he said, BNP is extorting money from big businessmen to provide money for the picnic. Purbachal, not Suhrawardy Udyan, is the right place for the kind of rally BNP wants to hold.
He also said that whenever BNP wants to hold rallies, the government is giving maximum support to BNP. In the past, the BNP government did not cooperate with the Awami League. The minister also said that the government has no intention of controlling the rally announced by BNP on December 10. But if they create chaos in the name of assembly, and set arson like in the past, then the people will resist them.
Addressing BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, he said that the government is not filing any case against BNP, but Mirza Fakhrul is talking about it.
The minister also said that if the pro-Pakistan Mirza Fakhrul and BNP activists want to do anything in the name of the rally in December, the people will surrender them.
