BNP leader Dudu sued in Thakurgaon

A suit was filed against BNP leader Shamsuzzaman Dudu for his reported “audacious” remarks casting aspersions on the architect of independence, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and his elder daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Acting President of Awami League Sadar Upazila Unit and Chairman of Sadar Upazila Arunangshu Datta Titu filed the case in Thakurgaon on Thursday.

Marjina Khatun, judge of the court, received the complaint.

According to details of the case, taking part in a talk show named 'Rajkahon' of a private TV channel on September 16, Shamsuzzaman Dudu, who is also the vice chairman of BNP, said Sheikh Hasina will be ousted like her father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Later, his comments published in the different print and electronic media.

The complainant said Dudu’s remarks about Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina not only demonstrated his audacity but also insinuated disrespect for Bangabandhu and Mother of Humanity Sheikh Hasina and the Bangali Nation as well.

The case filed further mentioned that the statement has created panic among people and it is tantamount to an attempt on the prime minister’s life.

General secretary of Thakurgaon Zilla Awami League Muhammad Sadek Quraishi, Organising Secretary Advocate Mostak Alom Tulu, General Secretary of Zilla JuboLeague Debashish Datta Samir, Advocate Abdur Rahim along with others were also present at this time.
