BNP leader Dudu sued for threatening PM

A case has been lodged against BNP leader Shamsuzzaman Dudu with Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Chattagram on Thursday for threatening to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, reports BSS.

Md Nurul Alam, President of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Rangunia Upazila unit filed the case against Dudu with the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Jayanty Rani Ray. The petitioner alleged that Dudu issued the threat to the Prime Minister during a recent talk-show titled ‘Raj Kahon’ at Ekattor Television saying that Sheikh Hasina would be killed like Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) Nikhil Kumar Nath argued for the petitioner before the court who was assisted by General Secretary of Chattagram Bar Association Advocate Aiyub Khan and senior Advocate Iftekhar Samiul Chowdhury. The court after hearing the arguments of the lawyers ordered the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rangunia Thana to take the allegation as a sedition case after taking necessary approval from the state.
