Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) Narsingdi region earned a profit of Taka 13.91 crore through its 21 branches in the region during the 2019-2020 fiscal year.
BKB official sources said the bank disbursed Taka 138.21 crore among 8,025 farmers in the district and realized Taka 84.62 crore outstanding loan including classified loan 15.46 crore from 1446 borrowers in the region during the last fiscal year, reports BSS.
BKB earned a profit of Taka 13.91 crore in the last fiscal (2019-2020) year, the regional office sources said.
Deputy General Manager (DGM) of BKB Narsingdi region Mohammad Enamul Hoque told BSS that Bangladesh Krishi Bank is a specialized bank and it has been playing a vital role in our national economy specially in developing the rural areas.
He said BKB generally disburse agricultural loan for crop cultivation, pisciculture, livestock sector, setting of poultry farm, purchasing of agriculture equipment, small trading, marketing of agricultural products and socio-economic development activities.
