Bitter cold-wave sweeps through Chuadanga as the mercury dips to 7.90 C

The lowest day temperature recorded 7.9 degree Celsius in Chuadanga with the bitter cold and  the cold-waves sweeping through the district. People of Chuandanga and the surrounding districts were experiencing bone-throbbing cold for the last three-day and the condition of low income group people have turned miserable. The number of cold related disease patients have also been risen in the hospitals of the district.

According to Metereological Office sources in Chuadange, the lowest recorded day temperature at 9-00 am on Thursday was 7.9 degree Celsius while the previous day's lowest temperature was 11.9 degree Celcius. With a sudden, large dip in Mercury, sufferings of the children and elderly aged people has been intensified and they are learnt to be attacked in winter related diseases.

At the same time, sufferings of low income group of people have also been increased as the day-labourers, farmers and daily wage earners were not being able to visit to their work place due to the extreme cold.

Chuadanga District Administration, however, distributed warm clothes among low income group of people of various areas on Wednesday night. Nazzrul Islam sarker, Deputy Commissioner of Chuadanga informed warm clothes distribution will be continued in phases among all homeless and wretched of all places of the district.

Meanwhile, 22 patients suffering from cold Diarrhoea have been admitted to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital during last 24-hour. Moreover, 100 more patients attacked with various cold related diseases have also been admitted to the hospital during the same time.

Samadul Haque, Officer-in-Charge of Chuadanga Meteorological Office informed the temperature in Chuadanga is likely to remain low during next two or three days.
