Biplop places wreath to mortal remains of Satyapriya

Barrister Biplop Barua, special assistant to the Prime Minister (PM), placed wreath to the mortal remains of Satyapriya Mahathero, to show respect to him at Nandankanon Buddihist Temple in Chattogram on Friday evening, reports BSS. 

Biplob stayed beside his mortal remains for some time and enquired about the funeral.

He expressed profound shock at the death of Ekushey Padak winning and principal of the Buddhists Temple in Ramu Satyapriya Mohathero.

Biplob, also deputy office secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Satyapriya Mohathero breathed his last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) last night at the age of 89.

He was undergoing treatment at BSMMU hospital. 

The elderly Buddhists monk was suffering from various old age-related complications and was admitted to the hospital on Sept 15, said Pragyananda Bhikkhu, assistant director of Ramu Central Sima Bihar.
