Biman starts selling Hajj flight tickets

Biman Bangladesh airlines Sunday started selling tickets for this year’s hajj flights, scheduled to begin July 4. “We have taken all-out preparation to operate this year’s hajj flights and there won’t be any difficulty if hajj agencies collect their tickets in proper time,” Biman’s General Manager (PR) Shakil Meraj told BSS.
Some 1,27,198 pilgrims from Bangladesh are set to perform this year’s hajj. Biman will carry 63,599, the half of the total hajj pilgrims. The remaining pilgrims will be carried by Saudi Airlines, the national carrier of Saudi Arabia.
The national flag carrier will operate 189 pre-hajj flights, 157 dedicated and 32 scheduled flights from July 4 to till August 5.
Biman will operates 11 flights to Madina from Dhaka for the first time this year.
Apart from Dhaka, 10 dedicated hajj flights to Jeddah and seven to Madina will be operated from Chattogram while three to Jeddah from Sylhet.
This year for the first time, the formalities of Saudi Arabia immigration for pilgrims will be completed in Dhaka.
Biman’s return hajj flights will start from August 17 and end on September 14.
