Biman Bangladesh Airlines is going to start passenger transport on China’s Guangzhou route from tomorrow, Thursday.
Besides, Biman is also preparing to operate flights on the Dhaka-Kunming route as well.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director and CEO Md. Zahid Hossain while paying a courtesy call to Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka Li Jiming has confirmed this.
During their meeting held at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, the two discussed the operation of passenger flights on the Dhaka-Guangzhou route. Apart from this, the MD and CEO of Biman had a detailed discussion with the Chinese ambassador about the operation of flights on the Dhaka-Kunming route.
The ambassador expressed satisfaction over the regular operation of air flights to China and assured cooperation in increasing air flights between the two countries.
According to Biman, flight BG 366 will leave Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport (HSIA) at 11 am local time on August 18 and will land at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in China at 4:45 pm local time. The return flight BG 367 will take off from Guangzhou airport at 7.45 pm local time and arrive in Dhaka at 9.30 pm.
Emphasizing the growing passenger demand, Biman Bangladesh Airlines authorities had inaugurated its own office in Guangzhou in January this year.
Passengers can purchase tickets for the flight on this route from any sales center of Biman. Passengers can check the updated ‘Travel Advisory’ from the website of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh and Biman's website.
According to officials of the national flag carrier, Bangladesh has important trade relations with China. It will be a very profitable destination for Biman.
Earlier in July, the Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC) gave a nod to Biman Bangladesh Airlines to launch flights on Dhaka-Kunming and Dhaka-Guangzhou routes, deputy chief of mission of China embassy in Dhaka Hualong Yan confirmed this through a facebook status.
