Biman pre-hajj flights conclude

Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Tuesday concluded this year’s pre-hajj flights carrying extra 2,687 pilgrims in addition to its scheduled 63,599 hajj passengers, reports BSS.

The last hajj flight BG-3383-A of national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh airlines left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) here around 4.50 pm for Jeddah, a press release said.

Biman carried 66,286 hajj pilgrims although it was scheduled to carry 63,599 pilgrims, this year.

The airlines carried extra 1270 government officials and 1417 pilgrims those who were supposed to fly by Saudi Airlines.

The national flag carrier operated 181 pre-hajj flights, 149 dedicated and 32 scheduled ones from July 4.

Apart from Dhaka, this year Biman operated 12 hajj flights to Jeddah and seven to Madina from Chattogram while one flew to Madina from Sylhet.

Biman’s return hajj flights will start from August 17 and end on September 15. During post-hajj flights, there will be a total of 176 flights, 147 dedicated and 29 scheduled, the press release also said.
