The shooting of AneesBazmee's ‘BhoolBhulaiyaa 2’ was stopped and postponed in March 2020 owing to the corornavirus pandemic and lockdown. The team was supposed to resume the shoot from October last year. However, it was pushed to December.
According to the latest report, the makers have given the cast and the crew revised dates for January-end. However, Tabu, who is a crucial part of the film, is unavailable for the required dates. The report added that owing to the date issues, Tabu was in the process of exiting the project.
However, the makers are keen to retain her and are reworking the schedule to accommodate her. The shoot, which was to commence later this month, followed by a short stint in Lucknow, has now been tentatively pushed to July 2021. The new dates will be finalised soon.
The film will have Kartik Aaryan stepping into the shoes of Akshay Kumar in the movie. However, the makers of the horror-comedy have clarified that the movie will not be a sequel to the original Vidya Balan starrer. The name of the movie has been retained to make it a franchise. Apart from Tabu and Kartik Aaryan, ‘BhoolBhulaiyaa 2’ will also star Kiara Advani in the lead role. This is the first time when Kartik and Kiara will be seen sharing screen space. —Times of India
