Tipu Munshi urges public servants

Commerce Minister on Thursday urged public servants to be accountable to the general people, indicating that the wages of public servants are generated from the revenue that is paid by the common people. He also advised government employees to work for the state with innovative ideas and positive mentality coming beyond the traditional thinking.

The minister came up with the remarks while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Innovation Showcasing Fair-2019, organized by the commerce ministry at the National Museum in the capital’s Shahbagh area. “There is no alternative to innovative power for sustainable development, but we need to change our mindset and work harder with honesty for the nation”, Tipu Munshi added.

The minister mentioned that the aspired development of the country and its economic emancipation have to be attained through increasing local and international trade and commercial activities. Mentioning that a target to reach 60 billion exports by 2021 has been fixed, he urged all to work together sincerely and cordially.

Various organizations under the commerce ministry and some other ministries have showcased 9 innovative ideas in the innovation showcasing fair-2019.
Commerce Secretary Md Mafizul Islam presided over the opening ceremony while Additional Secretary (Administration) and Chief Innovation Officer Dr Md Shah Alam also spoke on the occasion.
