BCL activist stabbed to death

An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was stabbed to death allegedly by rivals at Taropara Amtola village in Sador Upazila of Jashore district, on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Jony Rahman 20, son of  Sirajul Islam of the upazila and a member of the Narendrapur Union Chhatra League unite.

Police and Locals said Narendrapur union Chhatra League president GM Sabuj Hassan and general secretary Shahin Alam had a dispute over the purchase of sand  from a pond in the area. Following previous enmity over a sand trading, his rivals swooped on Jony around 9:00 pm and stabbed him, Nahid died on the spot.

Later, the police recovered the body of the deceased and sent it to Jashore General Hospital morgue  for autopsy.

Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station OC Moniruzzaman said a Chhatra League activist was killed in a stabbing. But the killers are all leaders of the Chhatra League oc added. Police have launched an investigation into the murder. Those involved will be arrested soon.

A case has been registered at Jasshore Kotwali Police Station in this connection.
