Lieutenant Commander Abdur Rahman, media officer of the Coast Guard Headquarters, gave this information on Tuesday afternoon.

He said, on the basis of secret information, a special operation was conducted by Bangladesh Coast Guard BCG Station St. Martin at approximately 1.5 nautical miles southeast of St. Martin's coast under Teknaf police station on Tuesday at approximately 2:00 PM. During the operation, a wooden boat from Myanmar was seen entering Bangladesh waters. After the movement of the boat appeared suspicious, the Coast Guard member signaled the boat to stop. Meanwhile, the boat's crew, sensing the presence of the coast guard, did not stop the boat and quickly fled towards the border of Myanmar. The Coast Guard continued to chase the suspicious boat, at one point the boat dropped some brown plastic bags wrapped in polythene into the water to destroy the sign and sped off towards the Myanmar border. Later, Coast Guard members recovered a total of 10 sacks from the water. A total of 7,00,000 (seven lakh) pieces of yaba were seized after searching the recovered sacks.
