BASIS vows to work hard in building Smart Bangladesh

24th AGM of BASIS held

The 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) was held on Tuesday at RAOWA Convention Hall, Mohakhali in Dhaka. 

The meeting highlighted to continue endeavor of BASIS on the way to build a Smart Bangladesh. 

BASIS President Russell T. Ahmed presided over the AGM while other Executive Council (EC) members including BASIS Vice President (Admin) Abu Daud Khan, BASIS Vice President (Finance) Fahim Ahmed, BASIS Directors- Habibullah Neyamul Karim, AKM Ahmedul Islam BABU, Mushfiqur Rahman, Syed Mohammad Kamal, Md. Mostafizur Rahaman Sohel and Rashad Kabir were present at the AGM. 

At the meeting, the Annual Report of BASIS for the year 2022 along with the Accounts of the Association with the Auditors Report for the fiscal year 2021-2022 were presented and an auditor was appointed to audit the income and expenditure accounts for the fiscal year 2022-23. 

At the meeting, BASIS Vice President (Admin) Abu Daud Khan presented the activities report implemented by BASIS in the last one year focusing on making human resources future-proof, develop local industry, develop foreign markets, increase access to capital & fiscal incentives, create a thriving ecosystem for startups, promote the ICT industry, development and expansion of information technology sector, steps taken to increase the capacity of the BASIS Secretariat. 

BASIS members urged to the BASIS leaders to play an effective role in the development of ICT sector and create a business-friendly environment for all. 

At the meeting, BASIS President Russell T. Ahmed, said, “We have organized the 17th BASIS SoftExpo, the largest IT exhibition in the South Asia. Through which we have shown proof of Bangladesh's capability in the information technology sector. Currently, we are on the path of building Smart Bangladesh. We have a long way to go ahead.
