Bashundhara Kings earn dramatic win

Bashundhara Kings just escaped with a dramatic solitary goal win against Mohammedan Sporting when Dorielton struck in the seconds before the last whistle of the game in the Bashundhara Bangladesh Premier League football on Friday.

After a goalless 90 minute schedule time, Dorielton scored the winning goal for Bashundhara Kings in the last minute of the added time.   

After the win Bashundhara Kings proved that they control situations better than anyone else since the league started, as they script their all win success in eight match in a row to continued unbeaten run.

Held at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Stadium, Cumilla, Mohammedan just on the eve of  recalling the memory of their first leg match of the league of last season when they forced the champions for a 2-2 goal, but were unfortunate, despite halting for 90 minutes time, cocneded the lone goal moments before the last whistle.     

Mohammedan, who have been struggling since starting the league and turned every match ‘crucial’ match’ for them, suffered fourth defeat out of seven outings. Both the sides exposed with offensive mood right from the kick off and worked hard to control the match and Mohammedan were a bit ahead to the favourites Bashundhara Kings. It was a bit high tempo start to the game and Mohammedan were the first to draw blood as Deniel Fables of Venezuela, failed to net the ball in the 19th minute. Kings team had also two chances very immediate after getting rid of the pressure to take lead before the break. Robson Robinho's shot from the edge of the area ended up in Mohammedan’s Keeper’s hands.

Manik Molla set a superb cross from right side but Shariar Emon spoiled the great chance to take lead on 54th minute that being inside the box and very closer to the goal-line.  

Despite fighting very imposingly, the Black and White could not capitalise the advantages of series of strong moves, as the mighty Kings’ defenders dealt with successfully to halt the forwards. On 60th minute Mohammedan made another good move with Shahriar Emon, who looked very sharp on the day dribbled past his markers before to set a through-pass for Deniel Fable, but the Venezuelan forward failed to beat a defender to reach the ball inside box.

Deniel Fable, who was strongly marked by the at two defenders could take an ahead from a long throw-in on 65th minute, which could have been converted into a goal.   

It was a completely same story as the players came back out for the second half.

Mohammedan began to press higher and push Kings back to the edge of their box. Mohammedan team had better control of the game but it was a question of breaching the well-drilled visiting defence.

Bashundhara, who could very rarer to put Mohammedan under real pressure, came closer twice on 75th and 77th minute.

Robson’s long range shot was wide over the cross bar on75th and Mating Meah despite entered into the box with the ball after edging past the defenders but none could make finish.

The clock continued to tick down and with four minutes gone of five minute added time, King had a dramatic with Dorielton headed home a corner from Robson in eleventh hour of the game (1-0).
