A Bangladeshi man was shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Telkupi border in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj on Saturday night.
According to local sources, the deceased was identified as Badsha, 22, son of Md. Rafique of Telkupi village under Shahbazpur Union of the upazila.
Local UP chairman Tozammel Haque said Badshah was shot dead on the spot by Sabdelpur BSF members between 3S and 4S pillars, set at Telkupi border in Shibganj upazila around 11:30 pm.
However, Commander of 59 BGB Battalion Lt. Colonel Mahmudul Hasan said he was not aware of any casualties in Bangladeshi territory.
