Bangladesh U-16 will face Maldives U-16 in their third and last match of the four-team UEFA Assist Under-16 Development Tournament at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.

The match will kick-off at 7pm (BdST).

In the day’s other match, Faroe Islands will play against Cambodia at the same venue at 4pm.

After the day’s matches, President of South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) and Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Kazi Md Salahuddin will distribute prizes among participating teams in a prize giving ceremony, BFF said in a press release on Saturday.

Bangladesh made a good start in the league-basis meet beating Cambodia by 2-0 goals in their first match on Wednesday and maintained the all-win record beating European side Faroe Islands by 3-1 goals in their second match on Friday.

For the first time, Bangladesh is hosting this four-team age-level football tournament, funded by the UEFA.

UEFA, European football’s governing body, has set up the development tournaments to offer young footballing talents an additional opportunity to play competitive international matches.

Earlier, Bangladesh ended third in the last edition of the UEFA assist football development tournament in 2018 in Thailand. The Bangladeshi boys conceded a 10-0 goals defeat against Maldives in their first match, played a 1-1 draw against hosts Thailand in the 2nd match and conceded 0-4 goals defeat against Cyprus in the 3rd and last match.
