Bangladesh Navy organises Int’l Fleet Review

The International Fleet Review 2022 was successfully organized on 6-9 December 2022 at Inani, Cox's Bazar under the management of Bangladesh Navy. On the concluding day of the event, a photo exercise was held in the Bay of Bengal with the participation of warships of the participating countries including Bangladesh to commemorate the event.

A total of 28 countries' naval chiefs/senior naval representatives and a significant number of warships, maritime patrol aircraft and helicopters from 07 countries including the Bangladesh Navy participated in this IFR.

The theme of IFR 2022 was 'Friendship beyond borders' inspired by the motto of our foreign policy 'Friendship with all, enmity with none' formulated by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This gathering of maritime nations will play an important role in increasing mutual trust and achieving economic prosperity among the participating countries.

Apart from the fleet review on the occasion of IFR 2022, the participating foreign naval chiefs and high-ranking representatives participated in maritime seminars and discussions on various issues related to bilateral interests. Earlier, on December 7, 2022, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina officially inaugurated the IFR 2022.

28 countries participating in IFR 2022 – Bangladesh, Australia, China, India, Egypt, Germany, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nigeria, Netherlands, Oman, Palestine, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Naval Chiefs/Senior Representatives of Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States participated. The IFR 2022 event is expected to facilitate the development of good relations and mutual cooperation between Bangladesh and the friendly countries of the world.
