Bangladesh is sending emergency food, medical supplies and medical team to Lebanon

Bangladesh has decided to send emergency food, medical supplies and medical team to Lebanon, the country that has been devastated massively by the twin explosions at Beirut Port on Tuesday evening. If needed, Bangladesh is ready to extend any sort of emergency support to Lebanon, informed a press release signed by Touhidul Islam, Senior Information Officer of Foreign Ministry today.

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen called Lebanese Foreign Minister Charbel Wehbe on Wednesday and expressed condolences at the deaths, injuries and other damages. Momen thanked Charbel Wehbe for providing medical treatment to the Bangladeshis injured in the explosion.

At least four Bangladeshis were killed and 100 others, including 21 members of Bangladesh Navy, were also injured. Bangladesh Navy ship "Bijoy" that was harboured at Beirut under the UN Peacekeeping operations has also been damaged on Tuesday's explosion.
