Bangladesh fetches $20b in export earnings amid Covid

Commerce secretary tells ICMAB reception

Commerce Secretary of GoB Dr. Md. Jafar Uddin on Saturday said during this COVID situation Bangladesh has achieved USD 20 billion as export earnings. 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took a prompt and courageous decision made this possible- he said assuring that his ministry will take necessary steps for the development of this CMA profession and the Institute.

Secretary was addressing a reception ceremony of the Council of The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) to honor the students who successfully passed CMA June 2020 final examination and inauguration of the Capacity Development Programme.

President of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA)  A K M  Delwer Hussain FCMA was present as special guest.

A total of 53 students who successfully qualified to achieve the prestigious CMA degree were warmly greeted and briefly introduced before the audience.

Congratulating the newly passed CMAs, Jafar Uddin said, “To enrich yourselves you must learn and know about everything around you.” 

While addressing Delwer Hussain FCMA said that, CMA professionals can create a great impact by putting their expertise for ensuring clarity in various economic aspects. He warmly greeted the newly passed CMAs.

ICMAB President ICMAB President Md. Jasim Uddin Akond FCMA thanked all the honorable guest and participants, and congratulated the newly passed CMAs. 

He said that their family did a lot for their success and achievement, so they must take a great care to the people who are close to them. 

Mentioning about the professional identity, he said that their journey starts in a new way today; they have to take responsibility of this profession and institute in future.

ICMAB Vice Presidents Abu Bakar Siddique FCMA and Md. Mamunur Rashid FCMA; TreasurerMd. Ali Haider Chowdhury FCMA also gave their speech in the programme.

Past Presidents, Council Members, large number of Fellow and Associate Members of the Institute and a large number of running students attended the programme.
