It will be the third time Bangladesh and Mongolia are taking each other when they played two matches in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in 2001 in Saudi Arab.

Bangladesh won the first one by 3-0 with Alfaz Ahmed scored two goals and Rokuzzaman Kanchan scored one when the second one was 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, it was a disappointing start for newly appointed head coach Cabrera, as he had a woeful experiences in his first assignment when he began the job with his team went down to Maldives by 2-0.

However, in a press meet on Monday at a local hotel in Sylhet, coach Javier Fernandez Cabrera said, “Forgetting the past we will have to look forward, we analyzed our previous performances, we did some mistakes and spotted the wrongs and trying to overcome all. But it’s not possible to bring changes and develop in a short time.”

“We had two good sessions after coming here that will help us much. Now we are ready to fight and will try to win.”

About the Mongolia, Cabrera said, “I know they are in better position in FIFA rankings but it is not a big factor, against Mongolia it will be a different ball game, two teams play in different styles, Maldives tactically and technically sound and the Mongolian are energetic. But our focus will be to win the match.”

Cabrera about the formation against the Mongolia, said, “Actually we are yet to decide, it depends on the opponents’ strategy.”

Captain Jamal Bhuiyan almost echoed with his coach as he said, “It is different challenge for us, we should look forward forgetting the past.

We are planning how we will take on the Mongolian challenge. We watched some videos of Mongolia. We don’t play watching the ranking, we focus on winning the match. We will bestow our best to win the match.”

About some of the experienced and regular performers, like Matin Meah and Saad Uddin, who were not considered in the Cabrera’s squad, Jamal said, “We are not thinking about those are not in the team, we just want go ahead with the squad now we have.”

“I enjoy to play here in Sylhet Stadium, here the fans are very enthusiastic,” Said Jamal.
