An auto-rickshaw driver was electrocuted in Varaoimari village under Solimpur union of Ishwardi Upazila in Pabna on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rabiul Islam Mollick Babu, 28, hailed from Varaoimari village under Solimpur union of Ishwardi Upazila of the district.
Salimpur Union Chairman Abdul Mojid Malitha confirmed the matter.
According to chairman, Rabiul Islam was well known as 'Babu Master' in the area. He worked as a Kindergarten master after completing his Master’s degree. He bought an auto-rickshaw recently as the school shut down.
He came in contact with a live electric wire while recharging his vehicle at his home. His wife and son tried to rescue him but they couldn't, the chairman said.
