Authorities of an illegal private clinic of Savar were attacks on Savar Upazila health administration during clinic inspection in Savar, on outskirts of the capital on Thursday. A staff of Savar health complex was seriously injured in this incident. Meanwhile, a written complaint was filed with Savar model police station in this regards.
Dr. Sayemul Huda, Health and family planning officer of Savar confirmed the matter to The Bangladesh Post. He said, we do not expect such this behavior from a doctor.
The attacker was identified as Dr. Maksuda Begum Shikha, wife of Dr. Shibendu Majumdar, hailed from Genda area of Savar. On other hand the injured was identified as Md. Liton Mia, son of Abdul Samad, a staff of Savar Upazila govt. health complex. According to the complaint, an inspecction team of Savar Upazila health administration led by Dr. Sayemul huda was inspecting activities of several private clinic of Savar following directive of Dhaka district civil surgeon on Thursday morning.
At a stage, Dr. Maksuda Begum Shikha, owner of New hope clinic and diagnostic center of Savar, along with her some staffs was unexpectedly attacks on the visiting team of Savar health administration and seriously injured a staff of Savar health complex by assaulting him, when inspection team asked for legal document of the clinic to authorities.
Sources said, Dr. Maksuda Begum Shikha illegally operating private clinic despite being a government doctor. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Sub-Inspector of Savar model police station said, we received the complaint. Legal action will be taken after investigate the matter.
