Atiqul opens waste management system in 18 wards

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam opened waste management system in 18 wards at a programme in the city.

“To keep the city clean is not the job of cleaners of city corporation only, but also a duty of all…We all have to keep our city clean and not to throw wastes here and there,” said the Mayor while inaugurating the programme on Wednesday.

He said, a project of Taka 4,026 core has been taken to construct roads, footpaths and develop drainage system for newly included city wards.

A total of 25 cleaners and 13 mosquito-controlling and cleaning staffs would work at each of the 18 wards, he added.

DNCC Secretary Rabindra Sri Barua, Chief Waste Management Officer Commdore Manjur Hossain, Chief Engineer Brigadier General Sayed Ahmed were present, among others.
