Asian Productivity Organisation (APO), a Japan-based organisation has formulated a master plan, “Bangladesh National Productivity Master Plan 2021-2030”, for the next 10-year to increase productivity in the country’s different sectors, including industry, service and agriculture.

APO Secretary General Dr Santi Kanoktanaporn Monday handed over the master plan to Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun at a function at the Industries Ministry in the city, said a press release.

Industries Secretary M Abdul Halim presided over the function while National Productivity Organisation (NPO) Director SM Ashrafuzzaman delivered the welcome speech.

In his speech, Humayun said Bangladesh is moving forward to become a developed country under the prudent policy and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“In the last decade, the country’s industrial sector has become able to create a strong base. The contribution of the industrial sector in the Gross National Income (GNI) is increasing gradually,” he added.

Humayun lauded the APO for formulating the master plan and hoped that the master plan will play a vital role to increase productivity in Bangladesh.
