The per capita income in the country has increased to the US $ 155 during the 2019-2020 fiscal year resulting in the annual income of each person is the US $ 2,064 on an average. On the other hand, even during the Corona Pandemicf, the increase in Gross Domestic Products (GDP) was by 5.24 per cent during the last fiscal year, mentioned in a piece of information published by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.
According to the statistics of BBS, ' During 2016-2017 fiscal year, the per capita income of the country was $ 1,610 while in 2017-2018 fiscal it increased to $ 1,751, in 2018-2019 in further increased to 1,909 while in 2019-2020 fiscal it stood at the US $ 2,064.
Moreover, the annual increase of GDP in the country was 7.28% during 2016-'17, 7.46 % during 2017-'18, 8.15 % during 2018-'19 while in 2019-'20 the increase in GDP was 5.24 % even amid the Coronavirus situation which is 2.91 % less than that of the previous years but still a positive sign for Bangladesh in compared to the GDP earnings of other countries of the world.
