Vocal artiste Ankhi Alamgir is a worthy successor to the renowned National Film Award winning producer, director, Alamgir. At an early age, in 1984, she worked as a child artiste in Amjad Hossain directed 'Bhaat De'.

The actress received a national film award for her acting in the film as a child artiste. Later on, she could not be seen in acting anymore. With the encouragement from her parents, Ankhi made herself as a musician.

She has been a play back singer in more than two hundred films. Ankhi Alamgir was fortunate to give voice to a tune by one of the most renowned musicians of the subcontinent, Runa Laila, during her career. In 2018, she gave voice to a song written by Gazi Majharul Anwar for Alamgir directed film ‘Ekti Cinemar Golpo’. It is because of this song that both Runa Laila and Ankhi Alamgir are getting Best Composer Award and Best Singer Award respectively. The singer was awarded a national film award for acting in her childhood days and now she is receiving another award in her prime time of life.

About this, Ankhi Alamgir said, “After my name was announced, I repeatedly thought that I was appraised at the right time. In the beginning, I am grateful to Runa Laila. She mainly wanted me to give voice to the song. It is because of her encouragement that I mustered my inner-courage to sing the song. My father also encouraged me to sing the song. I am very honored to receive such an honour.”
