Today is the International Mother Language Day. On this day of the great recognition which Bangla language got all around the world, all private channels, including Bangladesh Television, have organised special programmes. These include various illustrious shows arranged throughout the day including dramas, telefilms and films commemorating the Language Movement of ‘52. SA Quaderi highlights the International Mother Language Day programmes to be aired on television.

BTV

February 21 is International Mother Language Day. On this occasion, a special single episode drama will be broadcast on Bangladesh Television (BTV). The name of the play is ‘Bhasha’. Himel Ishaq directed the play written by Syed Manzurul Islam and produced by Shah Zaman.

Syed Hasan Imam, Hafizu Rahman Suraj, Monir Ahmed Shakil, Ahsan Habib Nasim, Dolon Dey, Nithar Mahbub, Tahmina Sultana Mou, Shanarai Devi Shanu, Shoksh Shikdar, Tapan, and many others acted in the drama.

NTV

Private TV channels NTV is going to air the telefilm ‘Shesh Bikeler Meye’ today. at 2:35pm. 

Hasan Rezaul has written the screenplay and directed the telefilm based on Zahir Raihan’s novel. The telefilm stars Irfan Sajjad, Nazia Haq Arsha, Sadia Jahan Prova, Tasnuva Tisha, Papia, Dilara Zaman, Fakhrul Bashar Masum, Dilu Khan, Daud Noor and others. 

The story of the telefilm revolves around a man and his inner workings of love and family life. 

A special recitation programme titled ‘Agun Ranger Pakhi’ will be aired at 9:00pm. Produced by Alfred Khokon and presented by Sharmin Lucky, the show will also feature kazi Bushra, Naz Shangita, Tithi Naznin, Tamanna Tithi and Sharmin Lucky. 

Finally, a special drama titled ‘Laal Ranger Meye’ will be aired at 11:30am. Toukir Ahmed, Bipasha Hayat, Bipasha Anwar, Monir Zaman, Sharmin Akhter, Khandaker Himel, Kabya and others have acted in the drama written and directed by Mahmud Didar. 

The story revolves around the family crisis of Jamil and Lily. The struggles they face for earning a livelihood and how Lily takes charge and tries to earn for her family. 


Bangla Vision

Satellite TV channel Bangla Vision has arranged a special drama titled ‘Bhul Golpo’ which will be aired today at 9:05pm. 

Based on the story of Sarwar Reza Jimi the drama has been directed by Tuhin Hossain and produced under the banner of G Series. The drama stars Afran Nisho, Mehazabien Chowdhury, Ziaul Hasan Kislu, AK Azad Setu and others. 

The drama contains moral messages about the proper use of Bengali Language which members of the cast find that will be interesting for the audience. 


Maasranga TV

Maasranga Television has organised a number of special shows today to mark International Mother Language Day. 

The documentary ‘Matri Bhasha’ is going to be aried at 9am. The music programme ‘Ami Banglay Gaan Gai’ will be aired at 9:30am in the morning. The musicians of this generation Apu, Ab-e Jannat and Mitu Rani Karmakar will be presenting songs in this show. 

The drama ‘Fuler Rang Laal’ will be aired at 11am. Arman Pervez Murad, Bijri Barkatullah acted in the drama under the direction of Gautam Kairi. 

The recital program ‘Amader Ekush' will be aired at 1am. The talented artists of this generation, Yusuf and Bandhan, will present songs in Phonolive Concert 'Ichhe Gaaner Dupur’ at 2:30 pm. 

At 6:10pm, live broadcast from Narail will be made about lighting candles ‘Ekusheyr Dwip Jele’. Language martyrs will be paid tribute through lighting one lakh candles at the event. 

At 9pm there is a special drama ‘Shikor’. Directed by Shamim Ahmed Roni, Majnun Mizan, Deepa Khandaker, Mamunur Rashid, Gazi Rakyat and Rokeya Prachi and other acted in the drama. 

At 10:30pm there is the telefilm ‘Bangla’. Taslima Mukta directed it where Abul Hayat, Tisha and others have acted.
